Letter to Mom – July 1, 2015

Hello my amazing mommy!

That email made me cry 🙂 I am so grateful that my baby nephew was watching over me! I was having a pretty hard time a couple of days ago because of the German. I have forced myself to not cry so many times in my life that I felt like I was going to cry, but I didn’t. My companion and I have had a couple of differences when it comes to the lessons, but we have gotten through them, I believe. The food here is great! I like your cooking better though ;P I love 1 Nephi! I started reading it again a couple of days ago.. I think like yesterday haha.. I think it was 1 Nephi 1:20.. we read it in Book of Mormon study, and my teacher said that that verse it what the whole Book of Mormon is about. Right there. In one verse. It was pretty awesome!! We went to the Temple today, and there was a Sister who was going through for her own Endowments today, which was a really cool experience! We are told that we need to look at the Endowment when it comes to our investigators, and I did! We have 2 investigators, and I saw them with their families! I could picture them there in the Celestial Room and it was absolutely amazing! I loved it!! My flight got cancelled going from DFW to Newark.. The plane came to the airport like broken.. so they had to get me a new flight.. which meant that my bags got lost.. which caused a whole bunch of funness haha, but I have them now!! On Sunday in Relief Society, we were talking about being a virtuous woman, and there was a quote by President Monson that I loved! He said, “There is no friendship more valuable than your own clear conscience, your own moral cleanliness.” I think that this is so true because we are with ourselves ALL THE TIME!!!! And if we aren’t doing what we are supposed to, then we will feel uncomfortable all the time.. which sounds really uncomfortable!! haha My Spanish has been coming back, and it is crazy because I am wanting to talk in German, I am thinking in Spanish, and I am talking in English XD It is very interesting! It works out somehow.. I am slowly getting the German language, but I will get there! I have gotten to the point to where I can understand a lot of it, but speaking is a huge struggle! Something that we say a lot is Mit der Heiligen Geist Shaffen wir Das! Which means, With the Holy Ghost we can do it!

Always and Forever,

Sister Wonson
