November 30, 2015 Letter

Well howdy partner!

This week has been pretty good!!! We gained two new investigators this week!!! They are both just super interested in the gospel and really want a Book of Mormon!! One is English speaking and the other can speak both languages (German and English), but he usually speaks Danglish with us haha xD
As many of you know, this week was Thanksgiving!! We went by on some of our investigators and told them Happy Thanksgiving and that we are thankful for all that they do for us and then we shared a Conference talk from the April 2014 General Conference! It is “Grateful in Any Circumstances” by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf! It is about hwo most of the time, we focus of the things that we are grateful for after we have gone through a trial, but we neglect it while we are IN the trial. Something that Prestident Uchtdorf said really got me thinking. He said, ” It is easy to be grateful FOR things when life seems to be going our way. But what then of those times when what we wish for seems to be far out of reach?” I started questioning if I did that, and I do, as well as others as well! I know that when I am going through a trial, I think “Why me? What did I do wrong to have this trial?” It is 100% thoughts about myself. When I have overcome a trial, I automatically look for the things that I am grateful for! Isn´t that funny? Why do we sometimes turn to the Lord after our time of need? Why do we sometimes turn inward during our times of trouble? Something that President Uchtdorf talked about was that we should turn outward during a trial. Turn to the Lord, serve others around you, all of that! And he promises that God will help us have the strength to overcome our trials and at the same time, we are coming closer to Him! It is just a really good talk and I will attach it to this email so that you can read it if you have the desire 🙂 I would like to invite everyone that is on this email list to read it and then share with me your thoughts.
Transfers. Transfers are next week and my amazing companion is going home! It is really crazy and just hard to believe! I have been serving with Sister Fenton for 4 months now!! I have learned so much from her and have made so many memories with her here in Germany! It´ll be hard to say goodbye, but I am grateful for the time that we have spent together to learn and grow from one another. We figure out this Saturday whether we are staying or not and who our companion will be!! It is kind of nerve wrecking, but also kind of really great because I know that it is 100% from the Lord!
We had a Strasse Austellung this past Saturday and it was quite the experience! We did it in Überlingen, and it was cold and there were a lot of not so nice people out.. But we were planting those seeds. There was actually this one guy that Sister Fenton talked to that had received discussions from the missionaries in Hungary and he moved to Überlingen and had the missionaries look up the closest missionaries to Überlingen, and Sister Fenton got to tell him that that was her! It was such a cool experience! He came to church and everything!! It was such a blessing to see that at least one person was found at the end of that Strasse Austellung!  It is very true that there is always light at the end of the tunnel!
I love you all so much! Have a fantastic week and just be grateful for all that you have and for all that the Lord has prepared for you! I know that he has a plan for each and every one of us! Never give up! Even in times of trouble!
Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson
