April 3, 2017 Split Ends of Life

Well, in case you forgot to read the subject line, this email is titled “Split Ends of Life”, and I know that you are probably wondering why lol Well, this week Sister Jensen taught me how awesome it is to take some scissors to your split ends one hair strand at a time! I was sick the other day, and this is what I did when I was absolutely bored out of my mind haha (I do not encourage being sick on your mission lol) After watching General Conference these past couple of days, this action of going one strand at a time makes it even more meaningful (if that makes absolutely any sense… If not, then just ask my brother Michael! He can speak my speak!)!! when we are going throughout our lives and we have trials and challenges (the split ends), you tend to notice them more than the positive experiences in your daily life. In this past General Conference, we were instructed to look up to Christ throughout our trials instead of looking down. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can turn these trials and challenges into a positive learning experience! When we focus on the split ends of life, we seem to think that our head is only full of hair with split ends, but in reality, if you take proper care of your hair, then you will notice that you have way more strands of healthy hair than the split ends! Let us all look towards the love of our Savior through all! This always reminds me of my favorite scripture Joshua 1:9! It says, “Verily, verily, Have I not commanded thee to be strong and of a good courage;be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Even though we may be struggling, God is ALWAYS there with us and there is no need to fear! Just keep going! As Jeffrey R. Holland said in the April 2016 General Conference, ” Keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trsuting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.”

Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson
