February 27, 2017 Fasching…Ya’ll Need Jesus!

Hahahahhahaha xD Ok, so in case you didn’t know, this week was Fasching xD Which is pretty much another reason for people here to drink and party with loads of confetti and wear really rediculous outfits xD It has been interesting….. xD Thankfully we keep walking past somewhere where they evidentally had their Fasching Carnival with all of the confetti, and it had ended like 5-10 mins before we got there xD So thankfully, this year we did not get confetti thrown in our faces xD Last night, we were coming home from GMK, and there were all of these drunk people either going to a Fasching Party, or coming back from one. We were one the train, and these guys starting playing some really vulgar German music, and Sister Jensen was dying and getting really mad, and so I said that we should just play “I’m Trying to be Like Jesus” really loud over their music xD Then that reminded me of a time when I was back home a couple of years ago when my mom and I were going to the church, and we were at a stoplight, and there was this one person next to us playing heavy metal music, and so my mom put the windows down and blared Vivaldi music xD it was so funny xD I then told Sister Jensen that they need Jesus xD

This week was pretty good 🙂 We were able to help Familie Rehm (a recent convert family in the ward) pack all of their stuff because they are moving this next week!! They LOVE us xD they are always so sad when we have to leave xD We also got into contact with an old investigator from when the Elders were here like a year ago!! His name is Adlu 😀 He stopped meeting with the missionaries and going to church due to work, but now he doesn’t work on Sundays, so he can come to church, and we can meet him after his classes for school 😀 He is so cool 🙂 We have been so blessed and have found those that are being prepared!
Today is Sister Jensen’s birthday, and to celebrate, we all went to eat Sushi as a Distrikt!! It was so great!! All you can eat Sushi!!!!! Plus tonight we are having Taco’s at Familie Rehm’s!!! Two of my favorite things in one day!!! Today has been a good day 🙂 I am really looking forward to this upcoming week!! We have a lot planned!! I hope you all have an absolutely amazing week!! I encourage all of you to look for 5 Tender Mercies that happened every single day. Write them down, and them look back on them at the end of the week 🙂 I can promise you that if you do this, you will be able to see God’s Hands work in your life, and you see His Plan for you much clearer 🙂

February 20, 2017 Kegeln, Return to Singen, Bathroom= almost cleaned, and Distrikt Finding!!

Howdy Ya’ll!

So as ya’ll can see, it has been quite the busy week! On Tuesday, I had the wonderful opportunity to revisit my Birthplace–Singen for a Zone Training 🙂 It was pretty good! We played a game of Scripture Mastery called “World Cup” xD For all of you football (soccer) fans out there, you will understand World Cup 🙂 For all of you football (american football) fans out there, it is kind of like the Superbowl, but with scriptures from the Book of Mormon xD Afterwards, there were some missionaries that asked me where a good Döner place is, and I walked them to one of my favorites in Singen 🙂 Sadly, we could not go to my absolute favorite place in Radolfzell, but that’s ok 🙂 I’ll go there with my parents xD Then later that evening, we went Kegeling with the Relief Society (it is like German bowling, but not bowling at the same time.. it is hard to explain… lol), and that was really fun!! Most of the game, I didn’t hit anything, but that’s kind of what got everyone to laugh and have a good time xD Throughout the game, they all gave me some good tips, and I really started to progress!! It was so much fun to bond with all of the other women in our lovely Branch 🙂 We also attacked the Bathroom this week xD I invite everyone to go home and lift up the top of the toilet tank to their toilet and see if it is clean or not xD If not, I promise you that you will want to clean it xD My hands have gotten so dried out from cleaning xD This week we are tackling the study room, which is pretty much organizing and dusting and windows and floor xD The apartment is looking better and better xD I still have to remind myself to not clean when I have free time because that is when everything goes wrong xD So I have discovered that the elders left a guitar in the apartment and I have been attempting to teach myself the guitar! I took a video of it, so if you wanna see it, just head over to my mission blog 🙂 Also, if you all are sad that I don’t send any pictures, just go to my mission blog xD I have all of my mission pictures and videos there xD We also had Distrikt Finding this week!! We had 3 companionships, and so we split up into 3 different dorfs in our area!! It was so cool! We were able to find 11 people together that wanted to learn more!! We are also starting up a German class!! We are still trying to figure out the details, but it’s all good 🙂 We are also teaching Alex and Maria Fernanda English to help them with school 🙂 They are so cool!! They are 2 Neubekehrte since a couple of months!! We are planning on going to the Temple with them for their first time in a couple of weeks!! So yea, this week has been a pretty good one! We have a lot of appointments lined up for this next week 🙂 We are super excited!! I hope you all enjoyed the splash of this week!! Have a great week, and as my high school used to say, “Keep it classy, Sachse!” (Sachse is the name of my city xD) but yea! Keep it classy!!

February 13, 2017 That Awkward Moment when the Monkey’s Phone is Better Than Our Phone

So, you all know what a Monkey’s Phone is, right? If you don’t, then let me take you back to your childhood when you realized that a banana looks like a phone, and you pretended to be a monkey calling your mom with your banana phone xD Well… That phone is better than ours xD I won’t go into much detail because it will probably sound like I am being ungrateful or not enjoying the little things in life. The other day, we were really frustrated with our phone, and we remembered that we had bananas in our bags from a member, and so we took them our and pretended to call people xD It was so funny xD This week has been really interesting and really funny at the same time xD We have discovered that we have a problem xD  So We have discovered Elder’s Apartments and discovered that the rumors are true xD We have been joking that we should hold a “how to clean your apartment” training so that everyone learns the importance of actually cleaning their apartment xD We ask elders all of the time now if they have cleaned their apartment xD That is quite weird to hear someone ask you xD Anyways, so our problem is that we can’t stop cleaning xD For instance, on Friday after lunch I was going to wash the dishes because that is what you do when you eat lunch xD Anyways, Sister Jensen went to finish the stove top really quickly to pass the time while I did the dishes. This then resulted in me cleaning all of the hardwater from the sink, Sister Jensen pulling apart the fan thingy above the stove to clean it, me cleaning the glass on the oven, and then remembering that the freezer DESPERATELY needs to be defrosted xD Don’t worry… we talked with Sister Kohler (the wife to our Mission President) about our need to clean our apartment xD We spent 3-4 hours today just on the shower cover thingy xD She told us that we are not allowed to clean for the rest of the day xD We had to quickly get ready and then leave the house because we were itching with the need to clean xD Other than that, our week has been pretty great!! We have done a lot of finding this week and have found one new investigator and then one new potential investigator that we are meeting with a less active member on friday!! The ward is still amazing and willing to help us out in absolutely any way 🙂 Yesterday, we were greeting into the ward with white roses 🙂 How sweet is that? 😀 Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that yes, it has been a challenge, but everyday we are able to find a miracle because God is constantly blessing us with Miracles, sometimes we just have to look a little bit until you find one 🙂 It was so crazy! We are meeting with an old man on Friday with a less active member that lives around the corner from him! We had visited her earlier this week, and we went finding around her apartment afterwards, and we klingled this guy, and he just let us right in! We told him who we were and that we were asking people what their favorite book was, and he got so excited and pretty much pulled us into his apartment just so that he could show us xD We had to tell him that we awkwardly can’t come in due to Mission Guidelines that keep us safe so that our families and parents can know that we are safe. So then we started talking to him on his doorstep and he went on and on about the Bible and how he is looking for Wahrheit (truth auf Englisch)!! It was honestly so cool!! We then shared a bit of the Restoration with him, and as soon as we finished telling him about Joseph Smith’s experience, he started talking about how he is looking for Wahrheit and he had met with the JW’s, but didn’t agree with what they believed and that he is still looking for Wahrheit!! We then set up a new appointment with him, and shared with him the Book of Mormon and invited him to read a couple of pages until we meet next, and he was so excited to read the Book of Mormon!! that was honestly such a cool and blessed experience! Those moments remind me every single day why I am out here! I have been praying so hard that we will be led to those in Bad Säckingen that have been specifically prepared for Sister Missionaries! We have been led to so many people and I am here to testify that Prayer works! God loves us so much and hears every single prayer, no matter how small! And if you have the faith to act on the answer, then you will be able to see it very clearly! 🙂 I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Sister Wonson

February 6, 2017 Transfer 11… 11 is a wierd number…

Well everyone, as you can tell, I am pretty old on my mission xD Sometimes it is scary, and sometimes it brings me peace to know that I have spent the past 15 months serving the Lord 🙂 It has been quite the emotional week as I said goodbye to my family in Wien 3 and headed to Bad Säckingen. It was really really difficult to leave, but I am happy that I have been sent here with amazing challenges that definitely make us think outside the box! For instance, we got to our new apartment at 9pm Wednesday night, and the apartment was SO FILTHY!!! Which is so sad because I know an elder that lived in this apartment and cleaned every single nook and cranny and it looked like no one had cleaned it since this elder left!! Lets just say that we were too grossed out by the beds, so we took the spare mattresses, and slept on the floor for the night xD We got pretty creative that night xD We spent the next couple of days cleaning it enough until we could live until monday to finish cleaning it, as well as buy food that wasn’t expired… Boys, if you haven’t cleaned your room and your bathroom in the past week, please go and do it right now because I can testify that when it isn’t cleaned, not even the bugs want to live there it is so gross xD Something really cool is our ward!! Seriously such a great ward! The Relief Society President has been amazing, as well as our Branch President, as well as… well… pretty much everyone!! xD We have been to see a couple of members this past week, and they have all told us that we should stop by literally anytime xD So many people have come up to us saying that we can use them for joint teaches! This ward is all about missionary work and bringing the work forward! The branch president is wanting us to go proselyting in the Switzerland part of our area (so… half of our area), and apparently all of the missionaries before never really went to Switzerland to proselyte because their travel pass doesn’t cover it.. Speaking of… We are not quite sure how to get around in this area because trains and buses only come like once every 2 hours, and our bikes are literally as tall as me, and there is pretty much no transportation on the Switzerland side of our area… We have asked President of the possibility of getting a car for our area, and due to not that many cars being in our mission, that is kind of not possible at the moment… But he said that he will keep a look out for us for when a car is available. Who knows how long that will take, so we are trying to be creative with traveling… haha xD It’s been interesting xD  It was really cool today in the Supermarket!! We were getting groceries for the week, and this guy comes up to us and says “Jesus?!” and then he started talking to us about how he came to find Jesus Christ! It was literally so cool! Sister Jenson talked with him about the Book of Mormon and how it goes hand in hand with the Bible and how they support each other and how it is Heilige Schrift! He said that he would read it and look at the websites we gave him! We also wrote down our number for him because he was pretty persistent on just reading the website and not meeting with us to learn more, but we are crossing our fingers and praying that he will call us or text us wanting more information and a Book of Mormon and just to come closer to Christ!! It has been a challenge, but a good one 🙂 I am so grateful to spend my last 2 transfers here in Bad Säckingen with Sister Jenson 🙂 I hope you all have a wonderful week!!! I am sorry for those on this email list that don’t understand English that easily… Maybe you can ask a friend or coworker that knows English to translate for you so that you can understand it better 🙂

January 30, 2017 You never guess what happened….

Ok, so I am going to tell you about 2 importnat things that happened
this week!! Ok, so the first one is Transfer calls! Our Zone Leaders
told us that we are doing them on Saturday like usual, and we were
getting ready to do Bible Prophecies, and President Kohler calls us xD
I literally yelled in our apartment, “Why is President Kohler calling
us?? What did we do??” and then I ended the call with our District,
and it turns out that President was calling to give us our transfer
call xD Sister Jones will be Sister Training Leader with Sister
Mickelson haha I have no idea if that is how you spell it or not xD
German has messed up my spelling xD And I will be having Sister Jenson
as my new companion, and she is from Germany!!! And……… We are
Pink Washing Bad Säckingen!! That is Elder Staheli’s first area!! And
I will be going home from there most likely xD That is wierd because
we are in the same MTC group xD But it was really cool because he was
able to give me like a whole bunch of info about the area and the
people!! So awesome!! I am super excited!! I will most definitely be
finishing my mission hard! The other big thing is that we are having a change of schedule and how
we count our key indicators (which are things to help us focus on our
goal and record what goes on in the area we are serving in)!! We have
a lot more decisions to make as a companionship, and this will help
us, not only for the rest of our mission, but also helping us plan
things when we go home from our missions as well!! I am way excited
about it! It has been a little difficult sticking to it because I have
spent my whole mission doing it one way, and now it is completely
different, but not at the same time.. I hope that made sense…

Another great thing that happened this past week was Tausch with
Sister Renner!!! I love her!!! We had a really cool experience this
tausch 🙂 we klingled this less active that we had an appointment, but
she didn’t pick up…. so we klingled her like 7 more times xD we
called her… no answer… then we decided to do some finding in her
apartment building. The first person we klingled answered and talked
with her about the Book of Mormon and asked her what her favorite book
was!!! She said the Bible!!! So we talked with her about the Book of
Mormon! Sadly, she was not open to us coming back or letting us in
(she was busy…), then we klingled the next person, and they just let
us in. The second she sees us, she says no interest and closes the
door as fast as she could! I almost couldn’t stop myself from laughing
xD then Joy, the less active, calls us back and we presume to tell her
that we are LITERALLY standing right on her door xD like the person
who let us in was her next door neighbor xD it was so funny XD she
finally came and opened the door for us, and we went in and taught her
some German!! She then fed us like some REALLY REALLY spicy rice with
chicken!! Did I ever mention how much I love African food?? Yes, it
was really spicy, and yes, my mouth was on fire, and yes, it tasted
DELISH!!!!! But yea! It was a really great week!! That was just a tiny
splash of our busy busy week!! Tomorrow is my last day here in Wien 3,
and it is really sad to be leaving, but I am also really excited for
this upcoming two transfers 🙂 new challenge, new adventures, and the
return to my baby zone!! I will miss it here, but what keeps me from
getting way way sad is knowing that I will be back in the summer 🙂 so
mom and dad… we need to still be coming back in the summer xD

Ok, so there is this really amazing Sister in Wien (Sister Whiting), and she makes this Banana Bread!! It is super delicious!!! And if you know me at all, I LOVE baked goods!!! (*cough*cough* I might have a problem with that… it’s fine though xD) Anyways, so She gave us the recipe for it, and the same night we called this family in our Ward up to see if they had time this week because we have been trying to see them for like a month or so! So me, being the clever person that I am, I told them that we have something for them and would like to bring it over to them when they have time and share a Spiritual Thought xD I got off the phone, and Sister Jones turns to me and says, “So what are we going to give them?” and I said, “You know… that’s a good question! Looks like we have a week to figure that out xD” So we made them Banana Bread (with chocolate chips because Sister Jones’ family and friends love her and sent her chocolate chips!!!)!!!  So we bring it over, and they are really into health and all of that, so the dad ate one and then asked, “What is in it that makes it so sweet?” and I looked at him and said, “SUGAR” xD It was SOOOO funny!!!!!!!

> Das Gesicht, ok so some of you might not know what that word means… That’s ok because I am going to help you polish up your German and let you know that that is the word for “face” 😀 So I have been trying to find new ways to learn new words, and I decided one day to look through the millions and millions of Ensigns and Liahonas and find some pictures that I could easily label!! So I found this really big close-up of this little boy, and so I cut out his face, and I glued it to a piece of paper and labeled it!! Sister Jones was laughing at me like the whole time because I kept telling her that it is awkward that it is a picture of a boy because I was wanting to find one of a girl so that it wouldn’t be awkward xD #MissionaryLife Haha so yea! I actually learned like 20 words that day!!! Super proud of myself!!!

Let’s just say that we went home after that, had to cancle Tausch, and stayed home for the rest of the day because I was dying…. I think I have learned my lesson by now xD

We are filled with appointments this week 😀 Haha I hoped that made sense…. haha we got a lot of appointments… I hope that makes more sense… xD Everyone is starting to realize that Transfers are in a week in and a half xD I hope you all have a blessed week and I invite you all to make a goal for the month of February for what you want the outcome of your February to be, and then make 3-5 smaller goals to help you reach that ultimate goal!! I know that when you do this, you will be able to focus more on the things that you wish to accomplish, rather of the things that you do not accomplish. I saw this Mormon Message a year back about this woman who had a list of things to do everyday that led up to her meeting with her cousin between a flight. So many things changed throughout the day, and her day did not go as planned, but at the end of the day, she was able to realize the Lord’s hand that she has seen throughout her day. She was able to see the Lord’s “To-Do List” for her to do that day. Making this original list is the first step. The second step is to pray and ask God to help you know of what is on His list. I have seen in my mission, as well as life, that when we do our best to align Our Will with God’s Will, then we will be able to accomplish so much more, and will be so much happier!

January 23, 2017 Banana Bread, das Gesicht, und Bad choices involving cheese… will I ever learn??

January 16, 2017 Thursday… That’s all I need to say xD

Hahaha Soooo our Thursday was HILARIOUS!!!!! We had great studies, and then we headed off to our appointment that was on a mountain haha So we get to the place that we need to take the bus, and we missed the bus 52B, but they also had a 52A bus. I looked at the stops to see if our stop was on it, and it was, so we took it! Well… we got off at the stop, and then we realized that it dropped us off at the BOTTOM of the mountain….. and apparently there are 2 streets with the same name…. it dropped us off at the wrong one… we had to run up the mountain because the bus comes every hour, and we had to be there in 10 minutes….. YIKES!!! We BOOKED IT up the mountain!!! Don’t worry, I made a video and I will put it up on my blog xD I will also be sending it to my family per ICloud picture thingy-ma-bobby xD So we get there finally, and I go to take off my coat, and my shirt was SOAKING WET!!!!! Thankfully she had a window open by the table, and so I went to sit at the seat next to the window, and she closes it!!! Thankfully, I don’t think that she noticed that I was like soaking from like head to toe xD She is such a sweet member!!! We have been working hard with our members and trying to get them excited for Missionary work, and it has been such a great and interesting experience seeing the change that the members have from when I first got here up until now! It has been so cool!!! It makes me sad that I might be leaving them in just a couple of weeks, but it has been such a great restart of my mission here in Wien 3!! I have learned so much and experienced so much!! I love it!! Also, I would like to send a shout out to my sister Ashley, her husband Tylan, and my nephew Jayce (Bucko)!!! They received a new member to the family this past week!!! I am so excited to have Adelynn Marie Crane as a niece!!! I love you so much already!! You are literally a gift from Heaven!! Anyways, so yea! Transfers have been a big topic subject here lol I have this weird feeling that I am leaving but not at the same time… weird, right?? I don’t know xD I am leaving the rest of my mission, my whole mission in fact, up the the Lord! I will go where He wants me to go, do what He wants me to do, and say what He wants me to say 🙂 I hope you all have a great week and count your many blessings one by one!!!
