January 9, 2017 Tonsillitis and MINIONS EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Hello All!!!

Haha as you can tell, it has been an interesting week xD I have been having pain in my throat and I went to the doctor today, and he said that he doesn’t see anything wrong with me, but I probably have Tonsillitis… We told him what we saw in my throat yesterday, and he said that it is not there anymore, but I probably have Tonsillitis xD So now I got medicine and I should be fine in 5 days xD If not, then I will be heading back to him next week haha I mean, come one! We all knew this was coming xD I have had some medical problem in every single one of my areas xD It was bound to happen xD That awkward moment when the doctor asks you how long you will be in Wien, and you literally have no idea xD #MissionaryLife!! I am pretty sure that after this transfer, I will be heading out of Wien for my last 2 Transfers, which is really really really really weird, but at the same time it will be good to have a change and new challenges! Now, as for the Minions, I know that you probably need a back story… So here we go!! πŸ˜€ Due to me going home the week before my Birthday, and me now going home right before my birthday (again), President Kohler told me that I could pick a day, and celebrate my birthday on that day so that I can say that I “had a birthday” on my Mission xD So me being the person I am, I chose January 3rd πŸ™‚ Because 3 is my favorite number, as well as my original birth-day, and January because the transfer awkwardly ends on February 1st, and I wanted to celebrate it with Sister Jones πŸ™‚ des wegen πŸ™‚ So yea! We bought a Minion cake, Minion napkins, and Minion tissues that SMELL LIKE BANANAS!!!!!!! So yea! It was a great day!!! We also received 2 new Investigators this week and one of them is Arash!! We went to Familie Macek-Morales’ Monday night for FHE with Arash! We watched The Testiments!! It was so great! Arash LOVED it!!! If any of you have not watched it–you should go right now and watch it!! I love that movie!!! πŸ™‚ It was really funny because we did not think that the movie would be that long and Arash also got a little bit lost, so we had to help him get there, so we also started late xD But we literally RAN out of their house in order to get the right Strassenbahn so that we could get home on time xD It was so funny because after we got on the Strassenbahn, Arash asks us why we were running, and then we told him that we were late getting home, and he said, “But you’re with your brother!” It was so great!! We then had to explain to him that our parents don’t know that, and that they just know when we should be home and they hope that we are home on time so that they know that we are safe and sound πŸ™‚ That made sense to him πŸ™‚ So Mom, Dad, I am safe and sound and still living πŸ˜€ Just in case you thought that it was Sister Jones writing you this email xD So yea! There is a little splash of my week!!! It was such a good one πŸ™‚ I hope your week is starting off well!! Have a great day!!!

January 2, 2017 Welcome to the YEAR 2017!!!!!

Well…. I literally thought that this year would never come… Honestly…. I sadly cannot use my joke of saying that I go home in a year (cause 2016 and 2017 are a year apart number-wise haha) cause it is now awkwardly the same year as when I go home… #thatawkwardmoment… But yea! I took the challenge that Sister Kohler gave each of us missionaries, and I wrote down points from every month of this year. Well… past year haha… It was interesting to look back on everything that happened! From Bed bugs to soccer in the snow to heading to switzerland to heading to the hospital to heading home to heading back out to literally everything. Let’s just say that it was an emotional rollercoaster sitting down and thinking about it all!! This week was really difficult with Finding and talking with people, but at the same time I have learned a lot and I have learned that relying on the Lord is still extremely important, even when everything in your life is going good! God he literally loves us so much, that he has given and taken away everything you have in your life. We read in the Bible about Job and his experience. He literally had everything! He had successful crop, a big happy family, he was happy. And then one day, everything was taken away from him! His crops were destroyed, his family was dead, but he was still happy. The first thing he did was something I would never think to do. He went down on his knees and thanked God for all he had and all that was taken away from him. He literally humbled himself before the Lord and put his trust in God and His Plan for him! That is a quality that I am constantly trying to work on–humility. I have been working on humbling myself before the Lord, especially when I feel like everything is going good in my life. It is always hard, I think, to think of how you can be constantly working on this attribute when everything is going good, but it is just as important as when you are going through hard times. God is literally your Father, and he WANTS to hear from you! Have you talked with Him lately?

December 26, 2016 “Are you Santa Claus?”

Haha yes, we did get this question this week xD On Christmas eve (Christmas Day here), we had all of these little christmas stockings that we had put pass along cards and american candy in them, and we passed them out to people and wished them a merry christmas!! We wore Santa Claus hats and everything πŸ™‚ I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!! There was this one guy that saw us, and he like yelled at us “Are you Santa Claus?” haha xD We then talked with him for like an hour about like Family History and the Book of Mormon! It was so cool!! He had two GINORMOUS dogs!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs… but sometimes they scare me… Luckily, his dogs didn’t bark πŸ™‚ That’s usually the part that gets me haha But yea, his dogs were so cute!!! Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to skype my family! I decided to do something different this year and go around to each member of my family and tell them what I learned from each of them and how it has helped me in my mission. It was such an amazing experience! I am so grateful for my family and for everything that they do for me! I wish I could go around and tell all of you what I have learned from each of you and how it has helped me in my mission, but there are awkwardly enough like over 70 people on this email list xD I don’t have that much time left of my email time haha Just know that I love you all and that I am so happy that I was able to be blessed enough to spend Christmas in Vienna πŸ™‚ Frohe Weihnachten und ein gutes neues Jahr!

December 12, 2016 Christmas Conference!!!!

Hey Ya’ll!!

Ok, so I don’t know if you have noticed this yet, but……. IT’S CHRISTMAS SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have discovered that it doesn’t feel like Christmas until you have your Christmas Conference xD It was so great!! We all did an elephant exchange and I. Got. So. Much. Chocolate!!!!! Have I ever told you how much I love chocolate?!?! If I haven’t told you, I just want to let you know, that I love you!! hehehe I meant to say chocolate haha The struggle is real when you are saying one thing and typing something completely different xD This year’s christmas conference, we focused on the Atonement and the Restoration! It was so great!!! We also got to listen to a couple of testimonies from Missionaries who are going home. It was a little difficult knowing that I was originally going home with this group, but now I’m not, but at the same time, I am happy that I will be staying till the end of April… Well… now the middle-ish haha cause I will be going home on April 20 th. So that’ll be fun! Hey, so I am sorry, but I have to go haha I love you all and I hope you have a great week!!!

December 5, 2016 #SaturdayIsASpecialDay

Haha ok, So I am just going to tell you about my day on Saturday because it was so awesome and I feel like you all should read about it because it is just so awesome!! Haha so here I go!! It all started with an eating appointment with an investigator and his mom. He is 14, oh his name is Rafi for those who want to know haha We decided to take teaching him in a different direction. So we played a game with him and it was about serving others and making good choices so that we can go to the Celestial Kingdom. He just kept talking about how he wanted to go to the Celestial Kingdom with his mom πŸ™‚ How amazing is that!!! He is so excited for us to come back and teach him!!! We also had a joint teach with our GML Phillipp Hofbauer for our lesson with Milad!! We went through his baptismal program and everything for his baptism πŸ™‚ And then we taught him about the Law of Chastity! Philipp was so great!! He bore such great and strong testimony about the blessings that we receive when we keep the Law of Chastity! It was so great and the Spirit was so strong!!! On Sunday (so Yesterday… haha) we got everything all figured out for his Taufe Kleidung!!! We also met with his brother, Masoud, and we invited him to be baptized when he came to know that what we were teaching him was true, and he Β accepted!!!! It was so awesome!!! He said that he would make his baptismal date after Milad’s baptism!!! #HeWillBeFeelingTheSpirit!!!!!!!! That was just a little splash of our Saturday as well as the rest of our week πŸ™‚ I hope you all had a wonderful week!!!! And that if you are not doing to Advent Calendar, then I invite you all to do it because it is so awesome!!! We have seen such a difference in our week by doing this!!! I love you all!!!

November 28, 2016 The Point where the Food come out of your Ears…

Hey Ya’ll!

Ok, so you are probably guessing that this week we have had quite the few eating appointments, right? Well you are CORRECT-A-MUNDO!!! Haha I love fun words like that πŸ˜€ Anways, so this week was Thanksgiving, as most of you know (Those that are from America), and so we ended up having 2 eating appointments a day (2 hours of space in between) for 3. Days. Straight…… I have honestly no idea how I am alive right now xD Mom, I love you. I think these wonderful people here in Austria are training me for coming back home and eating all of the food at dinner so that we never have leftovers…. ever…. again…. lol xD Haha so don’t worry! I am DEFINITELY not going hungry over here in the country next to HUNGARY XD haha I think I am so funny sometimes xD I am like laughing really hard about that dumb joke that I just told xD It has been really good! We have been able to get to meet more and more members this week!!! Yesterday, Milad and Masoud came to church!!! After church, we went to Familie Degasparie’s for lunch with Milad πŸ™‚ We had Chili πŸ™‚ But not Chili like you would eat in America… This one tasted more like refried beans with ground beef πŸ™‚ With some Tabasco and Habanero Sauce, it had a good kick to it πŸ™‚ Β (Note to self:Buy Habenero Sauce) It was really great!! Sister Jones, Sister Degasparie-Reyes, and Milad all played this card game while Bruder Degasparie and I made brownies… He does not follow the recipe… He literally threw everything into the bowl, mixed it, and then put it in the oven… It turned out like a cake… The game that they played was really funny because Sister Degasparie-Reyes knows Spanish and a handful of German, Milad knows Persian and a handful of German and some English, and Sister Jones knows English and a handful of German xD Let’s just say that there was a lot of Google Translate involved xD It was so funny xD While we ate the brownies (A.K.A. Cake) and ice cream, we gave our lesson πŸ™‚ We taught Milad about baptism, answered his questions, explained what he would expect at his baptism, and then started making the Program πŸ™‚ Ok, so here is the really awesome part!!! Milad changed his baptismal date!! Before it was on the 22nd of January, but now it is on the 18th of December!!! And he will receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost on Christmas Day!!! How special is that! πŸ˜€ He is so excited!! We only have like 2-3 lessons left with him, and we meet with him twice a week, so he will most definitely be ready πŸ™‚ We are so excited!!! Something else really cool this week is that LOADS of people came up to US this week! We were able to help and serve so many people this week! I absolutely LOVE being a missionary and serving others!!!!! It makes my little heart soar πŸ™‚ I would like to invite each of you to serve 5 people this week! Hold open the door for someone, or tell them that you like your scarf, or buy a little kid a piece of candy! Do something to make others smile πŸ™‚ I love you all! Please be safe and have an amazing start of this amazing Christmas season!
Always and Forever!
