November 21, 2016 Finding God’s many Blessings

Well, the Christmas feeling is in the air! We have the warm crisp air to prove it! We are already doubling up on like EVERYTHING that we possibly can! This week, Sister Jones and I went street contacting together for the first time! She was so nervous, but did extremely well πŸ˜€ We started talking to this one woman about God’s love for each of his children, and that was a really great (and interesting) conversation! Sister Jones stopped someone for the first time while street contacting! She stopped this one really cute woman named Jasmin! We asked her what is important to her, and she said Family! We asked her why (because we are curious beavers haha) and she said that she loves how she and her children can constantly be learning together and from each other! We got so excited because #ThatsWhatOurMessageIsAbout!!! We talked to her about why we are here on the Earth #OurPurpose and how we can continue to learn and grow with our families after this life! We asked her what she thought about the ability to be able to live with her family for Eternity, and guess what she said?! She told us that that makes her so happy inside and that it is such a blessing!! The conversation just continued to get on from there πŸ™‚ I also stopped these three young adults about my age (Sister Jones was begging me not to because 3 people was scarier than talking to one, and me being the person that I am ready for a challenge walked up and stopped them haha). There was one guy who couldn’t talk English or German, a really really sassy girl, and then this other guy that was really nice and polite. The sassy girl started questioning us on why we were asking what Jesus Christ means to them and how everyone has all of these different beliefs on Christ and how we should just let it be, and then she said, “Was meinen Sie?” I then explained to her that yes, while there are so many different views on Jesus Christ and many other things, we are not here to tell everyone that they are wrong, but we are here to help everyone come together so that we can grow our faith together and that us showing them this video about Jesus Christ was us wanting to help them strengthen their faith about Jesus Christ, and then I said, “Das ist was wir meinen :)” Yes, I did smile at the end πŸ™‚ As Missionaries, we are not here to push people into a corner and tell them that they are wrong and that they don’t have the truth. Our purpose is to help others come unto Christ and help them receive the Restored Gospel and help them strengthen their Faith on Jesus Christ and to learn how they can follow Him and His example. I am so happy that I am here doing what I am doing! I am so happy that I get the chance every single day to share this beautiful message every single day about everything that we have BECAUSE GOD LOVES US πŸ™‚ This week was a very blessed week and I thought I would give y’all a little splash πŸ™‚ I hope y’all have a good week now πŸ™‚ (Enter Southern Accent Here lol)

November 14, 2016 Welcome to Winter WIENterland!!!

Oh my goodness everyone!!! IT SNOWED!!!!!! For like 3 hours and you can’t see any evidence of it, but nevertheless IT SNOWED!!!!!! It has gotten to quite the bitter cold over here in the windy Vienna haha It sort of reminds me of winter in Sachse, TX haha You can deal with the cold, but then you add the intense winds that cut the cold straight to the bone xD That’s when it gets to you xD Do you want to know what else is pretty awesome from this week?? Our lessons with Masoud and Milad!!!!! They are totally brothers and they are both investigating the church! They both are on different levels, for example, Milad totally knows who God is and has a great relationship with him, and Masoud is still working out on finding who God is. It is so incredible to have seen them both grow over the course of just this week! Masoud asked us how to pray the other day and We were just so excited to tell him and it was just so much happiness all at once! He wasn’t just saying that he doesn’t know who God is, but he is wanting to create that relationship with God and find out for himself who God is! Then in another lesson, we asked Milad how he was doing in his reading the Book of Mormon, and he had read 1 and 2 Nephi! He had stuff highlighted and he was telling us that he will most likely be baptized earlier than January 22!!! That was just so great!!! These guys are so great!! We are thinking that Milad is going to get baptized soon and then he will baptize Masoud πŸ™‚ That would be so special!!! They also both came to church and they were just so lit up and happy! They could not stop smiling!!! It has been a very special week πŸ™‚ OH WAIT!!!! I totally just realized that I haven’t said anything about my new companion xD Sister Jones is absolutely amazing!! She is from South Weber, Utah! She is absolutely so great!!! It is funny because with her I don’t feel like I am training a brand new Golden from the MTC… I feel like I am greenie busting again xD She is so great πŸ™‚ We have been working really hard at becoming Masters of the Message this week! We have gotten like everything memorized except for the scriptures for the lesson points, but that is our focus next week! We literally quiz each other every chance we get! We have been working so hard at helping Sister Jones to get up the courage to say just one or two sentences to someone on the train:) It reminds me of when I was fresh on the mission! I was absolutely TERRIFIED out of my mind!!! But I’ve noticed that the more I do it, the less terrified I am! Face your fears! Satan only puts them there in front of your face in order to try to stop you doing what you have been called to do! But yea, this week was a really really great week πŸ™‚ I hope you all had a really great week as well!! Also, I updated some stuff on my blog! Go and check the “About” section on my blog! I added some stuff on there for any ideas if some one you are wanting to send me packages but are having a difficult time trying to figure out what to send me haha πŸ™‚ Have a blessed week!

Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson

November 7, 2016 Three is my favorite number :)

Well everyone,

You probably have guessed my transfer call just by this subject line!!! Sister Gunderson is heading off to the great Graz to finish training Sister Harwood, Sister Moore is heading off to Munich 2 to chill with Prez., and I will be receiving a brand new Golden!!! It is so great! I am so excited!!! I absolutely LOVE training!! So this week has been spent by saying a lot of goodbyes. Sadly, we can’t meet with everyone, but we had everyone sign TschΓΌss books and all of that on Sunday, so a lot of goodbye’s were said! It was so cool!! Yesterday, we went to eat with our ward missionary (Ralph) and his family, and we ate SAUSAGE!!!Β  Ralph even taught me how to make it so that I can make some for me and my companion πŸ™‚ I. Love. Sausage. Goodbye’s were said between them and Brother Macek and Sister Macek-Morales. It was a sad goodbye, but good at the same time πŸ™‚ Honestly, the hardest thing that I would have to say about a mission is all of the goodbyes. You enter an area, not expecting to be as attached to the people as you thought you would be, and then you truly realize it when you are having to say goodbye to them! I have had to experience that so many times here on my mission! The ward members over here are just so great! Their hearts are so full of love! Something that I love about this culture is that you have to earn their trust, it is not just given freely. I feel like sometimes in America, we just give this trust freely, and sometimes it bites us in the back one day. They focus on gaining that trust and friendship. I respect that so much. But yea πŸ™‚ That is just a little splash of this week!!! I hope you all have had a really great week!!! I love you all!
Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson

October 31, 2016 Happy HalloWIEN!!!

Hahaha I’m so funny xD Ok, so really it was Sister Moore that thought of this subject line xD But still πŸ™‚ So today is Halloween, and Sister Gunderson and I have decided to wear our Dirndls! We had our Distrikt Pday today! We went to this Catholic church where they were having this Michael Angleo exhibit! It was pretty cool. The church was ginormous!!! Apparently it is President Kohler’s favorite church in Wien! So there you go! πŸ˜€ This week we met with a member named Schwester Strobl! She feeds us the most adorable breakfasts! It is heated rolls, eggs, cucumbers, meat, cheese, guacamole, nutella, and of course you have to have your hot dogs! xD It is all in separate bowls, so not like all together haha But she even puts out ketchup and mannonaise! It is so great! We get to eat that once a week! Pretty much every saturday πŸ™‚ She is a member, but her son, Rafi, is an investigator of ours πŸ™‚ Sadly he hasn’t been making much progress lately, but we have a plan to get him interested again! Anyways, so after our breakfast and our lesson, she decides that she wants to walk with us to the bus stop. She took us this way by her house where there is a huge hill and you can see the whole city of Wien! It is so great!!! This week we also got our Essen List for eating appointment with members throughout the week! It is so great! We passed it around for the first time yesterday, and we gained 6 member appointments for the next three weeks from it! This will be a great way to get to know the ward and give them spiritual thoughts all at the same time! I have come to learn that this ward really loves doing missionary work and wants to help, but they are a little bit scared to invite the missionaries over. Everytime we ask someone to be a joint teach, and it doesn’t work with their schedule, they tell us that they will most definitely do it next time πŸ™‚ But yea, those were the highlights of this week!! OH YEA!!! We just realized that we are having PUMPKIN SOUP on HALLOWEEN!!! How perfect is that?!?! And we are also having FHE with Milad, Schw. Schade, and Ralph! It is going to be so great!! πŸ™‚

Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson

October 24, 2016 He remembers me….

Hey ya’ll!!

Ok, so I am going to ask you to do something a little difficult haha I am going to ask you to look back into my MTC days for a second πŸ™‚ So in the MTC we had this devotional, and there was an area of the 70 there with his wife, and they gave a really awesome devotional!! Ok, so fast forward to today!!! Well… yesterday and the day before that haha because we had our Stake Conference and he and his wife were the ones from the 70 there πŸ˜€ His name is Elder Charles!!! And yesterday after Stake Conference was done, I went up to him and shook his hand and I asked him if he remembered me, and guess what he said!! “Of course I remember you! You were in the MTC last time I saw you!” I totally died inside of happiness!!! He is so amazing! He was able to tell me some things that I really needed to hear, and it really lifted me up πŸ™‚ The Spirit was so strong when he spoke and I just couldn’t help but smile πŸ™‚ This week we also had a Tausch, which was really good and loads of fun! Sister Brinkerhoff also got to stay over at our apartment in between stake conference sessions πŸ˜€ I love that woman!!! Her golden, Sister Harwood, is so adorable!! She looks like supermodal cute haha Sister Moore is like super adorable as well πŸ˜€ Like right now she has a bun in her hair with a little bow underneath the bun πŸ˜€ So Adorbz!!! Sister Gunderson is super adorable as well!! Her hair is all cutzie, like always, and she is wearing a polka dotted skirt! How adorable is that?! Long story short, missionaries are awesome! Haha A scripture that was really able to help me was:
” And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.” -D&C 84:88
If you ever feel alone, or sad, or stressed, or any not good feeling, you are NOT alone. God loves you so much that he has sent Angels to be on your right and on your left to give you the strength to keep moving forward, to keep doing your best. Trust me, I know that it is hard and that sometimes it seems like you really are alone in that moment, but I can very well assure you that you are never alone. You are never unloved. You are never forgotten.
Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson

October 17, 2016 That awkward moment when your investigator turns out to not be your investigator…??

Well you are probably guessing from the subject line that this week was a little bit confusing… haha ok, so here is the story!! We have this investigator that Wien 2 gave us last week. His name is Milad… He is a pretty cool guy! πŸ˜€ Ok, so we remembered that we had a Sport Abend at the same time as our lesson.. So we called him to move his appointment to right before the Sport Abend and then go together and play some Sport!! Sooooo we get our ward missionary, Ralph, to come. And we meet before to go over the lesson and everything. We go to meet Milad… it wasnΒ΄t Milad… It was this guy whose name was ALSO Milad, but it was some other guy… So we teach him and his friend that he had with him about the Book of Mormon and we got his information and we set up another appointment to meet with him! Then we head over to the church with Ralph for the REAL lesson with the real Milad, and he didnΒ΄t show up… But he did text us his brotherΒ΄s number and said that his brother wants a Book of Mormon in English and to meet with us, and then we reset our appointment with Milad for tonight! It was so cool!! So then we called MiladΒ΄s brother last night to set up an appointment, and his brother sounds JUST like Milad!!! It was so great! This week was another difficult one, but it had a really great output!! I just love it when that happens!! πŸ˜€ So yep! I really need to email people back haha I hope that you all have a wonderful week πŸ™‚

Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson

October 10, 2016 Who knew October would be full of freezing cold and rain?

Hello ya’ll!

I hope you all understand how this week has been due to the subject line! Yeah? Awesome! Well that means that I can just end this email now and you would have been caught up on my week!!
Nah! Haha I’m just kidding! I wouldn’t do that to you all! I was honestly totally surprised by how cold it got this week! It was like really hot last week! And then like a flip of a switch it was freezing cold and really rainy!!! Like I brought out my winter coat and my winter boots!! Funny story! I found out this week that I have holes in my boots by the toes! So every time it rained, my feet became soaking wet! I am really surprised that I haven’t gotten a cold yet! Don’t worry though πŸ™‚ I bought new winter boots today πŸ™‚ And they should last me until like after the first year of college at least! Well, you know how some people say that rain brings miracles? It is so true!! We talked with so many people this week and we found so many that were so excited about what we are teaching people here! We were able to get in touch with some less actives that we have been trying for a while, and we were able to set up appointments with them! We were able to have 3 eating appointments on Saturday, and then by the end of the day we realized that the next day was Fast Sunday XD So we were very well prepared xD an investigator came to church and had loads of questions after church! We asked him if he would come again next week and he said, and I quote, “NATÜRLICH!” it was so great! His name is Milad πŸ™‚ This week we have had the theme “Follow me”. We read Matthew 4:18-25 with the members and then watched the “Come, Follow Me” Easter video. It is honestly so great πŸ™‚ I love our members! They are always wanting to do their best to follow Christ and help others to follow Him! This week was just a really good one πŸ™‚ It was a little stressful, but at the same time, really great! You know me! Trying to see the positive in everything πŸ™‚ I hope you all have an absolutely fabuloso week!!
Always and Forever,
Sister Wonson
